For today's prompt, think about some things that you enjoy about commercials. Do your best to give specific examples of commercials that you particularly like. This is a warm-up activity for a project we'll be doing in class where we will be creating our own commercials advertising a product (either real or fictional). Have fun thinking about what we like about commercials!

Here are some examples of commercials... if you are having a hard time thinking about what to write about, feel free to comment on these.

Welcome to Writing with a Digital Twist!

Greetings everyone, and welcome to "Writing with a Digital Twist." Over the next two weeks we are going to embark on a series of writing assignments, each of which will involve using some sort of interactive media. A lot of our work will be published on this blog. You will have a chance to share what you're working on with friends and family, and even contribute ideas from home if you wish. Over the next two weeks we will have daily blog prompts that will allow you to practice your writing as well as use your imagination. In addition, you will have a chance to create a commercial for a product using digital video, create a radio show podcast, and also create a children's ABC book. At the end of this two week workshop I hope you all will have a better understanding of how writing and digital media go together. Good luck and have fun writing with a digital twist!
